FAiTh President Ayesha Mehmood was invited as a guest speaker by Hope Of Life on 8th May 2015 for seminar on thalassemia awareness at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Bahawalpur.
After seminar she visited thalassemia ward at Bahawalpur Victoria Hospital, met patients & parents there.. spent some time with them and shared information / knowledge among them about how to manage life with thalassemia.
It was saddening to see the condition of patients there, not even a single hematologist was there, 3 to 4 kids were on each bed and sadly patient & parent both had almost no knowledge about thalassemia. Not even about hemoglobin & ferritin
FAiTh celebrated New Year and Quaid-e-Azam anniversary by conducting Blood Drive and Screening Camp on 26th December 2010 at Kashif Iqbal Thalassaemia Care Centre (KITCC)
25 people decided to attend the event, all of them were tested for Thalassemia, 5 were suspected, 1 has been confirmed as Thalassemia Minor, 16 people donated blood and not to forget all the donors were cleared with diseases like HbsAg, HCV, HIV, VDRL & MP!
We sure these people would have started New Year with a satisfaction that they are aware of their Thalassemia status! 🙂

FAiTh – Fight Against Thalassemia organized Seminar on “Thalassemia Awareness & Its Prevention” at The Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Karachi University on 21st October 2010.
We are highly thankful to Dr. Iqbal Azhar of University of Karachi for giving us a chance to arrange the seminar. Special thanks to our speakers Dr. Tahir Shamsi (Hematologist – National Institute of Blood Disorders), Dr. Waseem and Mr. Muhammad Iqbal (Kashif Iqbal Thalassaemia Care Centre (KITCC)) for sparing their precious time.
As the seminar hall could cater 150 students at a time we decided to do two sessions, so that more students can get benefited by the teachings and we tried our best to stream the seminar live so that our online visitors can also see and learn..

FAiTh Fight Against Thalassemia celebrated May 8th Thalassemia International Day with the friends, families, colleagues.
Friends, families, colleagues got screened for free with the collaboration of Kashif Iqbal Thalassemia Care Center on May 8th 2010.
FAiTh – Fight Against Thalassemia organized a free thalassemia screening camp with collaboration of HSC Hospital Supply Corporation on 31st January 2010 in a free medical camp arranged by Usman Memorial Hospital, Hussainabad, Karachi.
Target was to screen 200 people for free, but due to lack of time we managed to screen 122 people and 12 were identified as suspected, further screening was done and the reports were mailed to their addresses.
FAiTh participated in 6th National Thalassemia Conference & Workshops which was held on 17th – 19th December 2009 in Lahore.
