FAiTh (Fight Against Thalassemia) organized the third Ramadan Rashan Drive of the year 2023 on April 12th in Rashidabad, Tando Allahyar, Sindh.
Patients were provided with essential rashan, biscuits and gifts, while valuable data was collected from the families of thalassemic and non-thalassemic children.
This information will help us better understand their needs and enhance our efforts in the future.

Ramadan Drive 2023 @ Thalassemia Ward Civil Hospital Hyderabad
The second Ramadan Rashan Drive of the year 2023 was held by FAiTh (Fight Against Thalassemia) on April 8th, 2023, at Civil Hospital also known as Liaquat University Hospital Hyderabad Sindh.
The FAiTh team distributed rashan and biscuits to the patients and also collected important data from the families of both thalassemic and non-thalassemic children to better understand their needs and improve our efforts in the future.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our compassionate donors for their unwavering support towards our noble cause of raising awareness about thalassemia.
Ramadan Drive 2023 @ Thalassemia Ward Civil Hospital Thatta Makli
On March 29, 2023, FAiTh (Fight Against Thalassemia) organized its first Ramadan Rashan Drive of the year at Civil Hospital Thatta in Sindh, where they distributed rashan and biscuits to thalassemia patients.
We express our gratitude to our kind-hearted donors for their unwavering support for our thalassemia cause.
On 22nd January 2023, we hosted a bun kabab party for FAiTh members on Burns Road Karachi, as well as a cake ceremony to welcome 2023. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet, greet, and sit with fellows.
Fellows arrived with siblings and family members and had a great time.
InshaAllah, we will have more events like this throughout the year.
Requests for three LED TVs for the Thalassemia Ward at Liaquat Medical Hospital Hyderabad were received by FAiTh Fight Against Thalassemia on November 7th, 2022. Alhamdulillah, we obliged with the request and installed three TVs at the ward on December 8, 2022, one month later.
According to sources, patients get bored while waiting for their blood and blood transfusions, thus this would be a very kind gift from the FAiTh family for them.
Along with team members, Mr. & Mrs. Zubair Kothari, Mrs. Ismat & her family, and others, President FAiTh Ayesha Mehmood celebrated her birthday in the ward and gave out biscuits, gifts, and goodie bags to thalassemia patients.
Alhamdulillah, FAiTh has provided air conditioners, blood bags, blood bank equipment, and infusion pumps to different thalassemia centers of Pakistan

On November 17, 2022, FAiTh – Fight Against Thalassemia – A Patients & Parents Association paid a visit to the Thalassemia Ward at the Civil Hospital Thatta Makli.
Along with the president Ayesha Mehmood, general secretary Muhammad Hammad, and finance secretary Abida Nosheen, team leaders Muhammad Shoaib, and Raza Ahmed Khan were also present. As a sign of love from FAiTh, the team gave out flour sacks, treat bags, and blankets to the participants.
Muhammad Shoaib, and Raza Khan, members of the team lead, interacted with thalassemia patients and parents shared their knowledge and experience with the patients.
We wish to express our gratitude to the entire Thalassemia Ward Civil Hospital Thatta Makli team once more for their invitation, opportunity to speak with patients and parents, arrangements, and support.
Dr. Fazlullah Pechuho, Secretary Health Sindh and Mr. Wolfgang Moellers, Director KfW, inaugurated the Regional Blood Centre (RBC) in Jamshoro on May 13, 2018. The RBC has been developed by the German government grant through KfW-German Development Bank to the “Safe Blood Transfusion Project”. To manage the Jamshoro RBC, the Sindh government has outsourced its management to Indus Health Network under the private-public-partnership.
The RBC Jamshoro is equipped with modern, sophisticated medical equipment and has well trained and qualified staff to ensure the safe transfusion of blood as per the international standards.
The Jamshoro RBC is linked to six HBBs in the region. Linkages with HBBs in Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) Jamshoro, LUMHS City Campus Hyderabad, Civil Hospital Thatta are functional. The other three HBBs will also be connected to the RBC soon.
Regional Blood Centers all over Pakistan provides free of cost blood to thalassemia & other disease patients.

At Liaquat Medical Hospital Hyderabad, Team FAiTH Fight Against Thalassemia hosted a Patients & Parents Session and Winter Drive 2022–2023 on November 7, 2022. Mumtaz Jatoi Sahab, the in charge of the Thalassemia Ward, provided the delegation a thorough tour of the hospital’s various departments after the session.
The Civil Hospital, Hyderabad is a 1450-bed tertiary care hospital in Hyderabad, Sindh, commonly known as Liaquat University Hospital. It is one of Pakistan’s largest teaching hospitals and is connected to Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences in Jamshoro, the country’s first public medical school.
All of the treatment is being offered to everyone for free under one roof. All the necessary facilities are housed under one roof, including an emergency room, a dialysis unit, an intensive care unit, a surgical ICU, a lithotripsy unit, a neurosurgery unit, a children’s emergency room, a neonatal block, a thalassemia ward, a paediatric surgery ward, a neonatal HDU, and a neonatal ICU, among others.
We are sincerely appreciative to the administration for providing us a thorough tour of the hospital and for sharing all of the important information and facts about the services with us.
On November 7, 2022, Team FAiTh Fight Against Thalassemia met Medical Superintendent Dr. Shahid Islam Junejo at Liaquat University Hospital Hyderabad / Jamshoro. Mumtaz Ali Jatoi informed him about FAiTh, its activities, and how we supports the thalassemia patients at Liaquat University Hospital Hyderabad.
Additionally, he informed him that FAiTh intended to contribute three LED TVs to the thalassemia ward.
Meeting Dr. Shahid Islam Junejo was an honour, and we are very appreciative of his time, well wishes, and prayers.
On November 7, 2022, FAiTh, a group of patients and parents, paid a visit to Liaquat Medical Hospital in Hyderabad.
